One-man army 🥷

If you think you're alone, you should read about Justin Welsh and the empire he's creating.

Hi there 👋

Welcome to the first ever edition of Call To Action. Like we said before, this is a no-BS, zero fluff newsletter curated list of the best tips, tools, and tactics in marketing, sales, and SaaS - things that have blown our minds in the past week. 🤯

While we gained from what we read, we also bookmark a lot for future reference.

But, those bookmarks aren’t meant to gather dust.

Instead, they are meant to be shared with you so you don’t have to sift through tons of content everyday.

So, let us jump in.

Justin Welsh - The one-man army 🥷

What if a country pays you $250K a year as licensing fees to use your last name? Woah!

What would you do? We’d probably retire and watch the buffalos graze away. 😜

But, on a different note, Justin Welsh epitomizes ‘solopreneurship’ like no other. He’s created playbooks, affiliate programs, and insane amount of content.

More importantly, he does two things really, really well:

  1. His copywriting skills are fab!

  2. He writes consistently and has been doing it for years now

Email is cash 🤑

Nobody has cracked email like Amazon. Seriously nobody!

For every purchase you make, they send you mails on:

  1. Order confirmation

  2. Delivery status

  3. Other similar products you’d be interested in

  4. Feedback

  5. God knows what else…

Want to crack email marketing to the minutest level like Amazon?

  1. Increase number of customers

  2. Increase number of purchases per customer

  3. Increase $ value for every purchase

Live (and die) by your hooks 🪝

How many hours have you spent obsessing over that hook?

Writing, scratching, re-writing and again scratching until you felt you’ve gotten it right.

And then, you’ve read somewhere that you need to write at least 25 headlines for your blog.

Man, it has to end somewhere. 🤷‍♀️

What if we told you that your search for the ‘Hook Mantra’ has ended?

Naim Ahmed has put in umpteen hours compiling the 100 viral hooks from experts that’ll make your post go viral. Guaranteed!

Do things that don’t scale (and more!)

Sorry Substack folks, but we have to give credit where it is due!

Nathan Barry, founder of ConvertKit grew it from $0 to $33.4 Million in 10 years.

He’s identified 10 lessons from his journey and we couldn’t agree more with three of them:

  1. Do direct sales (no brainer)

  2. Choose a niche (They focused on professional bloggers before expanding)

  3. Don’t bootstrap overly. Instead, push for results

Read all about it here.

Pricing is everything in SaaS 💵

In SaaS, if you don’t get your pricing right, you’re leaving money on the table.

That’s why founders obsess over pricing their product.

But, it doesn’t have to be all that complicated.

Essentially, there are two components to your pricing strategy:

  1. The first is your pricing model itself - how are you charging, number of users, features, usage etc.

  2. The pricing page itself - the user experience on your pricing page that subtly nudges people to take action.

That’s a wrap, folks. We’ve been planning to launch this newsletter for a while now, and we’re glad we’ve finally done it :)

We look forward to bringing you even more SaaS insights and stories in the coming weeks. So, stay tuned.

And, do show us some love. If you’ve liked reading it, spread the word around to your brethren and we will be delighted 😇

Thank you for reading Call To Action. This post is public, so feel free to share it.
